Q: Can you use barbells in Turbulence Training to gain muscle and lose? Or do you have to use dumbells and bodyweight exercises only?

Answer:
Barbell exercises are just as good as any other exercise. Usually, people are asking that question the other way around (are dumbell and bodyweight moves good fat burning exercises?

The only reason the Turbulence Training Workouts are almost all dumbell exercises and not barbell, is simply because most TT users workout at home and don’t have barbells.

I personally use more barbells than dumbells in my own workouts. I might include barbell alternatives more often in future workouts based on your feedback. For some great barbell workouts, get my buddy Jay Ferruggia’s program at www.PRWorkouts.com

Also, in certain cases, having a barbell allows more superset pairings to be created.

For example, you could pair a barbell squat and pullup together, where as you could not pair a db split squat and pullup together b/c of a weakened grip.

Use barbells, dumbells, and kettlebells, and always give your workouts more cowbell,
